Exercise... Thinking Further

Exercise: Thinking further Stand up and put your right arm straight out in front of you. Without moving your feet turn around in a clockwise direction as far as you can go (without hurting yourself!). Look across your outstretched arm and by referencing it on the wall notice how far you’ve gone around. Return to the front and put your arm down. Close your eyes.

Now rehearse this in your mind - See yourself doing it again and moving even further around. Go on; really see that arm moving even further around. Do this a few times in your minds eye, and when you’re ready, keeping your eyes closed, put that arm back up, slowly twist around again – as far as you can go…and then open your eyes! What happened? How far did you go this time?

You might say "How did that happen?" The answer is simple. It was your mind. Can you get a sense of its power? Your mind and your body, and what you say (to yourself and others) are so extraordinarily linked. You see, what stops you achieving what you want in your life is really your mind – it's those patterns and habits of a lifetime. With a little training you can make your mind work for you very quickly.
